2025 Host, Dr. Denis Jiron

Denis Jiron, a native of Los Angeles, is a versatile trombonist with a rich career in both classical and commercial music. He has performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, LA Opera, Sapporo Symphony, and many others, and has collaborated with top artists like Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, and Andrea Bocelli. Currently, he is principal trombone of the Jackson and Midland Symphonies and serves as Assistant Professor of Trombone at Western University in London, Canada.

As host of the 2025 International Trombone Festival, Denis brings a wealth of performance and educational experience. His diverse career and deep commitment to trombone education make him uniquely qualified to create an inspiring and engaging festival atmosphere for participants from around the world. Denis is also a Conn-Selmer (Vincent Bach) Performing Artist.
