Performing Artist Showcase
The daily ITF Performing Artist Showcase is a series of shared recitals highlighting new and emerging solo or chamber repertoire. Selected through a juried adjudication process, these programs feature independent performing artists, college professors, freelancers, and orchestral players from across the US, Canada, and Europe. These concerts will be a mixed bag, with experimental techniques, innovative instrumentation, and novel arrangements thrown in with traditional works for trombone and piano. Select highlights of these concerts include the return of Louise Pollock, Principal trombone in the Gothenburg Opera (Sweden), whose inspiring recital at the 2022 ITF was a crowd favorite, Dr. Jonathan Allen, Professor of Trombone at the University of Iowa (and 2018 ITF host), performing Incursions, a new work by James Naigus, and David Wilborn’s new work for solo trombone Jett Stream Blue, performed by Cincinnati Conservatory doctoral candidate, Jett M. Walker.
